Handy Worker (contractual basis)

Reporting to Administrative Manager 
Salary: Rs 8,615 x 205 – 8,820 x 230 – 10,200 x 250 – 11,450 x 260 –14,050 x 275 – 15,150 x 300 -15,750 x 325 – 17,375 

Duties

To be responsible for the performance of the following general duties pertaining to the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and kennels of the MSAW 

  • Responsible for the general care and maintenance of shelter animals including feeding, cleaning, disinfecting, grooming, vaccinating, medicating
  • effect general cleaning works of offices, premises, sites, buildings, toilets, garden, yard, clinics, kennels, cages and vans;
  • handling of dogs and cats;
  • washing and ironing linen items, cooking and cleaning utensils and the kitchen;
  • remove, load, transport materials, furniture, and other items;
  • handling animals for euthanasia;
  • load and unload MSAW vehicles and dog catching vans with carcasses of dogs/cats;
  • assist in moving the MSAW property;
  • carry out excavation works/digging of holes at the dog cemetery for the burial of dogs / cats carcasses and help with the burial;
  • collect and despatch correspondence as and when required;
  • run errands and answer calls;
  • participate in all activities of the MSAW;
  • perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from a handy worker in the roles ascribed to him/her.
Profile 

The Handy Worker/ Kennel Attendant should: 
  • be an animal lover
  • be medically and physically fit (undergo medical examination if selected);
  • be literate and is able to record incidences and other relevant details in occurrence book;
  • have clean certificate of character;
  • Should not have reached their 48th birthday by the closing date upon submission of application.

Systems Administrator

Reporting to the Administrative Manager 

Salary: Rs 21,000 x 475 – 21,950 x 625 – 23,200 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1,225 – 40,800 x 1,525 – 49,750 x 1,625 – 51,575 

Qualifications: 

A. Possess a diploma in Computer Science from a recognised institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Society. 

B. Possess good communication skills; 

C. Have the ability to work in team; and 

D. Previous experience in the field of systems Administrations would be an advantage

Duties 


1) To perform database, network and systems administrations and to set up and manage users,groups and roles. 

2) To design, develop, maintain, implement and deploy IT systems, and train end-users theron. 

3) To assist end-users in performing acceptance testing of applications developed by software developers and liaise with external service providers. 

4) To take preventive measure to ensure adequate capacity and availability of storage and computing systems and monitor performance to ensure optimum efficiency. 

5) To provide and maintain up-to-date documentation of implemented systems as regard technical,user, procedure and operational manuals. 

6) To assist in setting up and configuration of computer systems and in infrastructure deployment and site preparation. 

7) To assist in performing quality assurance of computer systems. 

8) To implement security measures to safeguard IT systems from threats and to ensure business continuity in collaboration with all stakeholders. 

9) To ensure compliance with ICT standards, guidelines and methodologies. 

10) To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Systems Administrator in the roles ascribed to him. 

11) Participate in all activities of the MSAW. 

Note: 

1. Systems Administrator will be required to work either at the MSAW head office or in and other branches 
2. Systems administrators may be required to work outside working hours.

Accounting Technician

Reporting to the Administrative Manager 

Salary: Rs 21,950 x 625 – 23,300 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 36,200 

Qualifications: 

A. A Cambridge Higher School Certificate with a Pass at “Principal Level” in Mathematics or 
Accounting or passes in at least two subjects including Mathematics or Accounting obtained 
on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Advanced Level” 

B. Passes in papers F1, F2 and F3 of the ACCA Fundamentals (Knowledge) and in at least four papers 
of the ACCA Fundamentals (Skills) 

C. Candidates should- 

i. Have a good knowledge of government financial and accounting procedures; 
ii. Possess analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; 
iii. Be computer literate and be fully conversant with computerise accounting systems.

Duties 

1) To keep records of funds managed by the Society and to prepare annual financial statements and other statutory 
financial reports and ensure that accounting standards are strictly adhered to. 

2) To monitor the cash flow positions of the Society with a view to ensuring that adequate funds are available to 
meet all payments, as and when they fall due. 

3) To assist in planning and organising and to participate in management audit exercises and financial investigations of the Society. 

4) To investigate into management accounting and management information systems with a view to detecting inadequacies and 
weaknesses and proposing remedial measures. 

5) To write-up management audit reports.

6) To assist in the streamlining of financial systems and work procedures. 

7) To examine and prepare payments on behalf of the Society prior to obtaining authorization to process payments. 

8) To process monthly payroll and filling of relevant returns and preparation of appropriate statements. 

9) To use ICT in the performance of his duties. 

10) To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and 
results expected from the Accounting Technician in the roles ascribed to him. 

11) Participate in all activities of the MSAW. 

Note: Previous experience in the preparation of financial statements would be an advantage
